As a 16 year resident of Parkland County, my love for our community continues to grow. The people who live here want happiness, security and prosperity. I believe the role of government is to offer people an equal opportunity to achieve, while being treated with respect. At the same time we need to be responsible with the public purse.
The past 18 months of Covid in our world, has afforded me with much time for reflection and to consider what’s possible going forward. Having enjoyed 6 years of semi-retirement , I now feel compelled to return to a more active work life.
I’ve been very fortunate to have contributed to community building for the best part of my life, through my work in administrative appeals, health care, economic development, social and seniors housing development, business coaching, and as a volunteer. My role as a Barrhead county councillor offered me wide-ranging and diverse opportunities to contribute to the quality of life in that community.
I've worked with over 250 small businesses in assisting them build their footprint and assist them to have realistic business plans, creating sustainable growth and employment.
I believe in people — and that people want the best for their community. I believe in listening to what my neighbours want for our community
I believe people want their representatives to be their voice to government, rather than the voice of government to them.
Citizens deserve representation that not only listens to them
, but also engages with them on their turf. Whether at the coffee shop, the community hall, or the doorstep. I won’t wait for people to walk through the door — I’ll come to you.
